Striving for Success Pop-In Series

The Academic Success Center and the Office of Student Success have partnered to bring students five interactive one-hour pop-in events spaced out over the course of the semester. Each event will include several stations. Stations will address specific skills/strategies that fall under the main topic being explored. Information will be given in approximately 10-minute segments at each station to allow students the opportunity to attend all the stations within an hour timeframe. Continue to check back as the semester draws near for dates, times, and more information!

Workshops

We offer several workshop series for students. Each is a multi-session series with a total of 6 hours of instruction. There is no cost to attend ASC workshops. Students who are REQUIRED to complete an Individual Success Program with us register for these workshops through your Individual Success Program Option Selection process in Canvas. Other students who are interested in attending one of the workshops can contact us at successcenter@tamu.edu.

Courses

We offer two credit-bearing courses:

  1. ASCC 101: Application of Learning Theories to College Studies (formerly STLC 101)
  2. ASCC 101: for Hullaballo U
  3. ASCC 289: Special Topics.

ASCC 101 uses the latest learning theory to help students improve their study strategies. The Hullaballoo U version is geared to freshmen; it provides a thorough introduction to college academics that set them up for academic success. You can register for ASCC courses through the regular registration process in Howdy. Some courses or seats in some course sections may be reserved for students in targeted programs.

If you have questions about an ASCC course, contact Dr. Megan McClure (mmcclure@tamu.edu).
