TSIA2 Retesting Guidelines

•You only need to retake the specific section you did not pass.
•You will also need to complete the TSI Pre-Assessment (PAA) located in your Howdy portal. Once logged into Howdy, and search for TSI Pre-Assessment (PAA) and complete it.
•The ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading) portion of the TSIA2 includes both a multiple-choice section and an essay.
•To meet the TSI requirement for Reading and Writing, you must pass both components.
•Passing only one part (either the essay or multiple-choice) does not satisfy the requirement.
•Your TSI status for Reading and Writing will remain incomplete until both parts are passed successfully.

Placement & Courses

TSI Course Placement

Based on TSIA2 scores or approved exemptions, you may be required to register for a Math Skills or Reading/Writing skills support courses for your incoming semester unless you show other proof of having met the TSI requirement.

Next Steps

A TSI hold will be placed if you are not in compliance.

Based on your scores, you will be prevented from registering for some courses which are TSI restricted, but you will be able to register for other courses within your degree plan. You can remove the registration hold by coming to check-in on Day 1 of your NSC.

TSI-liable students cannot take any courses in the following areas until the relevant TSI requirement is met:
